It all started with two friends, a search for the right solar system, and an idea.      

Back in 2021, Alex decided to install solar panels at home. Going solar seemed like a no-brainer. For his wallet, the environment, and his family’s future. 

But finding reliable information…oof. 

Alex spent weeks trawling the internet, going down rabbit holes, and speaking to installers who threw so much contradictory information at him that he felt like he was playing a game of dodgeball.

Surrounded by pushy sales reps and no small amount of BS, Alex eventually decided to start from scratch and do the research himself.

He got into the nuts and bolts of how solar systems work. 

The different components, how they interact with each other, the whats, the hows, and the whys. 

Then he dug into the claims being made by installation companies. He checked their accuracy, learned to spot red flags, and got really clear on what reliable should look like.

After a while, family and friends started coming to Alex for advice. 

Alex realised something. 

He was sitting on a goldmine of information that could help thousands of people to go solar without stress, hassle, or getting ripped off.

So, Alex teamed up with his friend, Gustav, and they started Solar Sherpa.
