Solar-Sherpa is a service operated by Omtago AB ("we", "us"), which is the data controller responsible for your personal data.

• Name, surname, address, email address, and phone number;
• IP address, browser type and version, operating system;
• Advertising IDs.

You directly provide Solar-Sherpa with most of the data we collect when you sign up for a newsletter, request a quote, contact us, or complete a survey. We also receive data indirectly (IP address, advertiser IDs, and we sometimes convert addresses to GPS positions using Google Places).

• Connect you with the relevant solar panel installer when you submit a quote request;

• Conduct analyses and market research;
• Optimise our services and personalise marketing;

Solar-Sherpa may use automated decision-making and profiling to direct your request to relevant installers. Upon receipt, each installer acts as a separate, independent data controller. You may object to this process by contacting us, and request a list of installers we have shared your data with.

Under UK GDPR and GDPR, the lawful bases we rely on are: performance of a contract (quote requests, service, installer connection), consent (newsletter, cookies), legitimate interest (analyses, automated matching, IT security), and legal obligation.

Solar-Sherpa securely stores your data on servers located within the European Economic Area (EEA). We retain your data for the duration of our business relationship (up to 3 years), and afterwards only as long as necessary (up to 7 years for financial records).

We work with service providers (cloud storage, analytics, marketing tools) and share your data with solar panel installers so they can provide quotes. We may also share data with professional advisors or in business transactions such as a merger.

We store personal data within the EEA. Where transfers fall outside the UK and EEA, we use safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

We use cookies and similar technologies. Consent and preference management are handled by our consent management platform.
